12 July 2019

ABC Go4Gold Award
Australasia’s largest precious metal services group Pallion and its subsidiary ABC Bullion, are proud to partner with Ski Club Arlberg and support the next generation of world ski champions.

The Ski Club Arlberg is one of the oldest and well-known ski clubs in the world. Established on the 3rd of January 1901, the SCA with over 8,800 members from 57 countries is currently the largest ski club in Europe.  Many World Champions and Olympic champions have emerged from the Ski Club Arlberg.  The club boasts many prominent members and ski pioneers, including Princess Caroline of Monaco, Prince Ernst-August of Hannover and a number of legendary skiers, such as Hannes Schneider.

In partnership with Ski Club Arlberg, ABC Bullion has agreed to award a 1oz gold ABC Bullion ingot annually to the most internationally successful member of the SCA Racing Group as part of the Go4Champions program.  This prestigious annual award will be named the ABC Bullion Go4Gold Award.  Commenting on the partnership, Pallion group Chief Executive Officer Andrew Cochineas said:  “Pallion and ABC Bullion are proud to be inaugural sponsors of the ABC Bullion Go4Gold Award in partnership with the world’s most prestigious ski club, Ski Club Arlberg.  The association brings together leaders in their respective fields of precious metal production and alpine sports to recognise and support the next generation of global ski champions”.

The 2019 ABC Bullion Go4Gold Award winner is Magdalena Egger.  In recognition of her achievements, she was awarded a 1oz gold ABC Bullion ingot, at the ceremony held on Saturday 13 April 2019.

At the European Youth Olympics Festival in Sarajevo, the 18-year-old Magdalena Egger from Lech managed a great coup, winning 2 golds and a silver. To begin with, she won the gold medal in slalom. Two days later, she carved her way to victory in the giant slalom, despite this not being her favourite discipline. Until now, Magdalena, who is a student in Stams, had felt more comfortable in slalom and the speed disciplines. Towards the end of the Youth Olympics, she crowned her achievements with a silver medal in the team event. At the Closing Ceremony in east Sarajevo, Magdalena was given a special honour: the golden girl from the Arlberg, who recently celebrated her 18th birthday, was selected to carry the flag for the 34-member Austrian Youth Olympics Team.
